Hunting Success Isn’t Just Luck

Hunting any game can be a challenge. Some hunters seem to have all the luck. Every year the same guys get the game. It’s not just luck if you know where to be.

Focus on the Edges

To consistently find game, you have to hunt the edges of cover. Which can be anything from a field with brushy cover, types of trees changing from open hardwoods to dense cut over or thicker brushy trees.

Knowing where game feels safe and finds food can make all the difference. Look for the edges.

Open areas within a forest can also be considered an edge. Terrain changes such as the tops of a draw or benches out of the wind.

Game will always follow the edge for safety and usually the best food is close to an edge. Scout the thick areas that are within open woods or fields to find more game.
